(November 13, 2018) El Paso, TX-- The Burkitt Foundation, Doggett Freightliner, Daimler Truck Financial, Daimler Trucks North America, and an Anonymous Donor came together to donate four new trucks to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. These new trucks will increase the capacity to deliver nutritious food throughout El Paso, Culberson and Hudspeth Counties. This donation included two 2019 Freightliner M2 refrigerated box trucks, and two 2019 Freightliner Cascada tractor units including a day cab and sleeper unit.
This generous gift strengthens the Food Bank’s fleet of dependable vehicles that can rescue surplus food from our generous food donors at grocery stores, farmers and dairies and deliver it to those that need it most at our partner soup kitchens, shelters, pantries and schools.
“Our mission is to find solutions to fight the hunger crisis in the El Paso region by working with companies and local partners who support our efforts to combat the hunger crisis in our community,” said Susan Goodell, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank CEO. “We are beyond humbled by this generous donation of trucks, a resource we desperately need. It is because of these like-minded corporations that we are one step closer to ending hunger in our community."
