Joined @FeedingAmerica to learn from people facing hunger across the country, including here in the borderland. It’s clear: Anti-hunger policies must prioritize the dignity and agency of the people they are designed to impact. Use the link to add your voice to the discussion.
Our neighbors facing hunger are at the center of everything we do. This summer, we brought them together to share their stories with us. EPFH hosted one of the 126 listening sessions throughout the Feeding America network in which we connected with our neighbors to help us better understand the challenges they face every day and the difficult decisions they have to make when household expenses far exceed household income. The information shared with us provided valuable insight and contributed to the first-of-its-kind report that elevates the voices of those who are most affected by policy decisions around access to nutritious food and affordable healthcare and resources that help children and families thrive. It also set up a framework of policy recommendations focusing on eliminating policy, practices and systems that perpetuate disparate rates of hunger in America.
